Institutions are only as strong as the people who serve in them.

One simple statute could have prevented this-- Convicted felons are ineligible from serving in elected office. But nobody, including yours truly, ever thought the American people would be so ineffably stupid that we would NEED a law like that.

i think it’s time for the world to insulate themselves from the US economically, diplomatically and socially. they have seized and outsized influence in our world affairs which is fading but still believe 4% of the population should have more and say more than the remaining 96%.
