If they want to be inspired, let them climb a mountain. If they want government to function, they should vote for people who believe in governmental function, which is Dems, as opposed to Repubs

I remember a time when politicians actually had to earn the votes they got rather than feel entitled to them just through party loyalty or stopping something worse. This country has been in decline a long time.

Yes, but reform involves going with what we know works. If things ever get back to the time you remember, then we can be more selective

We know having politicians beholden to voters rather than donors works. Until we overturn Citizens United and reform campaign finance, we’re going to have an apathetic electorate who don’t bother voting at all. It sucks, but here we are.
