The world is failing Congo. Colonialism and decades of war have killed and displaced millions, leaving behind a hunger crisis. The country’s natural resources have also been plundered, and children are today forced into deadly mining for the copper powering our devices.

I've signed @kimjohnsonmp.bsky.social’s EDM that urges the government to demand justice for human rights violations, use sanctions to hold those funding militia groups accountable, and do all it can to work towards a just and lasting peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The government has been violating human rights in the UK & abroad. None of the government ministers are listening to us, their electorate. The ministers are on the side of abusers not victims. We are not allowed to express our views. Has this country run democraticly & fairly

Nothing is changing regardless of some MPs' efforts to make our lives livable. This government is not even listening to the Parliamentars & select commitees, ignoring all of us. Is the Parliament working, fulfilling its legislative powers, or the government is bypassing the Parliamentars' power?

I’ve lived in the Congo. It is a beautiful and yet totally brutal place. When Belgium pulled out they took everything with them (literally down to the light fittings). It is a country run by the rule of the jungle, so the strong rise and exploit. They prey on their own. It is a tragedy.
