Absolutely not. I am not an author. But I do daydream about rich people being placed in horrifying but deserved ecological terror so I have ideas.

What I'm imagining is it starts in the hot desert and everything seems fine. Then at the mid point the rain comes and never ends and that triggers the complete breakdown. The mud trapping them in the same way as the French were trapped at the Battle of Agincourt.
