Like, say, Vance—clearly his troubled upbringing made him hate his mom, and by extension all the people he associates with her (a rapidly expanding circle) but does he have any concept of that? Or has he committed so hard to the bit that he thinks he’s a Machiavellian genius.

With rich people, I assume they're surrounded by people who never question them, or are just egotists who suppress any self-doubt. Vance I have to assume he's just so desperate to be accepted, even if it means associating with the most morally depraved people, that he'll say or do anything.

And You Thought It Was Safe(?) @aytiws.bsky.social

I'll bet folding money it's the last one. Who else but a Machiavellian genius could get Ron Howard to make his book a movie by being a one-of-the-good-ones™ Never Trumper & and then become Trump's VP? Besides literally anyone else with a billionaire sugar daddy & no scruples?

Thanks I Hate It @mikevago.bsky.social

Elon Musk in particular — you'd think every single movie villain of the last 10 years being based directly on you would give one pause, but nope.

Elon thinks anything "the libs" view as transgressive gives him cred among his legions of nihilistic sycophants and therefore makes him badass.

Cat Vincent, (he/him, Useless Eater) @catvincent.bsky.social

Vance specifically thinks he is a Crusader (as does Thiel), which bodes ill.
