i love Gene Wolfe, but these are some of the worst covers i've ever seen in my life. An Evil Guest is okay, but the three covers for his Book of the Short Sun trilogy look like self-published Photoshop glop.

The Book of the Short Sun covers were done but SFF illustration staple Jim Burns. I wish they had had Richard Bober do it so my Long Sun/Short Sun covers matched. But Jim Burns DID demonstrate he COULD touch the soul of these books in his cover of the SFBC omnibus edition.

I don't mind the 'An Evil Guest' cover but it would have been cooler to have an illustration of a shadowy undersea Cthulhu being on the cover.
