If we get Sesko, Wissa, Guehi and Bobby Clark in with Isak out (for £150m), I’d class that as redeeming the transfer window from an awful position. #nufc

I'd take a punt on Tammy Abraham
Just joined Besiktas so he’s off the table.
Take a pop at Ivan Toney then
It would take us 4 years to sign them all 😂🤦♂️
I live in hope! 🤣
Agreed; but that’s a mighty big IF! And l would be delighted.
Until it’s not a possibility I’ll live in hope! 😉
It’s an ill wind….. with the money Liverpool are spending, our rival for a certain Palace C/H may no longer be interested. 🤔
Yeah, and now it sounds like Man Utd have put a concrete bid in for Sesko. Happy days!
I saw my first match at SJP in 1973. Even during this probable disappointment, we are so far ahead from the dark days l have experienced in the past, that l think we can probably get through it. 🤔
Goes without saying on the worse times, even this disastrous window has been better than most under Ashley but the notion that we potentially can’t convince a striker to join a setup playing in the CL (vs. one that isn’t) where our coaching team will develop his game and improve him is hard to take…
I think we can compete with all the clubs in the PL except the top 4 and because of past reputation Man Utd. Against anyone else we can hold our own. Until we can a) increase our reputation and b) our turnover, it is always going to be a struggle against them.
When the next sporting director comes in they need to develop a player profile strategy with Howe that doesn’t result in embarrassing knock-backs like we’ve seen this window. I’m sure there are players out there but we’ve targeted those where we’re up against teams with, ironically, more resources.
In the past we have attracted players who saw us as a ‘step up’ and the top 4 didn’t want necessarily want to take a chance on. Now we are competing for ‘oven ready’ players, where there is fierce competition. Where we are remiss is in not have the senior team in place to support Howe.
I think we struggle on the wages too. The established elite can afford to drop ridiculous wages on players because they became established in an era of no financial rules. We’re always going to be second best in this financial climate, which is not how it’s supposed to work… or maybe it is? #fix
I hate that we’re still living in the world of what if, when really this transfer window could have been done and dusted with the right people at the helm. The people to blame for this summer are our owners.
Maybe it’ll shove PIF towards finding someone, below Yasir in the pecking order, who can devote more time to specifically us.
The immediate priority for our new CEO has to be establishing effective channels of (a) influence and (b) communication with PIF.
Very telling that according to the reports it's Jamie Reuben doing the deal for Sesko. Someone who can make a call like a late night 90 million bid?
90 is crazy for Sesko.
Worth noting it’s also €90m so about £80m
Going rate, really, when you look at the cost of Ekitike (£79 million)… even Rasmus Hojlund (£72 million), and how shite has he been in that Man Utd team?! Sesko scored 21 in 45 last season with 6 assists. Ekitike scored 22 in 48 last season with 12 assists. Similar stats, similar cost 🤔
Absolutely agree with you, but it’s still insane.
5 years ago we’d have been signing Calvert-Lewin on a free and being told we should be grateful for that outlay.
I suppose anything approaching the cost of a new hospital is that! 🤣
Considering the form he’s in and he’s only 22, it’s what we have to pay to attract the emerging elite talent.
Yeah I totally agree, and it’s all very on track for prices now, but it’s fucking insane. It’s like there’s a four bed bungalow round the corner from me going for just under a million. In Worthing. Everything feels unsustainable.
+ these numbers are barely even real at this point
Not the owners , they employ a ceo who hasn’t done his job
Said CEO Eales employed his mate Mitchell didn’t he? He can ⬇️
he did indeed complete mess up
I wasn’t too impressed with his ridiculous “never seen a Mackem in Milan” nonsense either - leave that type of shite to us fans, we need our CEO to be professional and all about the business, not one of the lads™…
He does have cancer too…
My anger is focused on our former Sporting Director. Claimed our recruitment was not fit for purpose and somehow made it even worse!
yes obviously im aware of that and sympathise, however if he wasnt able to fulfil his role he should have stepped down
And the chances of it happening are……..?
Slim, obviously, but I’m an eternal optimist!
As I’m a greedy bastard I’d want one more experienced midfielder to bolster the numbers.
Gallagher?
Possibly, depends on fee and wages. A loan with option would work for him. He’s a better Sean Longstaff type player. Solid.
I'd prefer Paqueta - bit more creativity
That’s the shout. How much would he cost though? I’m not sure West Ham let him leave this window.
