Weird. Is this an academic politics thing? As an outsider I would imagine a lot of people would want to go to both. But they forced people to choose.

The two conferences attract almost non-overlapping audiences. Your PhD work for example would be something you could easily find at Cosyne, but not at CNS which is more cognitive neuroscience focused.
