Yes, these one day consumer boycotts are ineffective IMO although I appreciate the effort. But if the boycotters spend the money the next day at Amazon or wherever, it won't accomplish much. Longer, sustained ones will help but that is easier said than done.

I just got back from attending the Bernie Sanders/ALC rally in Denver. They were over 34,000 of us.
Please share, I want to know what it was like and how stoked people were.
Getting into Denver and walking to Civic Center park with 1000’s of people was electrifying. Making friends w/strangers of every age who all have the same drive to keep our democracy felt great! Honestly, I’ve been in a funk since November 5th. This spurred me to a more productive direction.

I hear you. I was at the same place for a women’s rally with over 100,000 people the day after Trump was first inaugurated. Then several years later, Roe vs Wade got overturned. Rallies and protests are still important but focusing most on getting more Democrats elected in every state.

I think it's important to see their lead, but also all the voices that have emerged. Walz and Pritzker out in the media and Elizabeth Warren and Chris Murphy from in the Senate. Rebecca Solnit from her various perches, established groups (eg Indivisible) and the burble up ones (eg 50501).
The many voices on stage are good. The amount of people who are angry (and frightened and wanting to stop the coup) is massive. The movement, I think, is going to be like a murmuration, constantly on the move, adjusting, but always there.
I like the murmuration analogy and it is starting slowly and steadily. My concern is it’s to slow considering the pace of change/damage he is doing.

Sanders is making his 3rd party noises again, which splits our vote in midterms. He's doing incredible work right now but history tells me he is not someone we can fully invest in to have our best interests at heart.

I’ve been to 5 protests in the past 2 months - several of them were in all 50 states - and as people have mentioned here, the next one is April 5. I can feel the momentum growing and the crowds getting bigger each time. The anger is real and hopefully the movement will continue to scale quickly.

Here's an idea - how about run for public office? If you want actual change to occur, replace the lawmakers that aren't doing their jobs, as well as Dems that are in their 70s and 80s that should be their last term in Congress. Plus, focus on local races down ballot - they matter a lot.
