Trump's contribution to our politics was exposing that conservatives don't care about any of the principles they've said are sacrosanct for 100 years, and all they wanted was to be openly evil instead of circuitously evil. The Democrats who win will be the ones who understand this and act like it

Not to mention, he proved that the constitution only applies when it’s enforced. When 9 people who decide what is constitutional and what is not, favor fascism over established precedents, Americans’ rights are as flimsy as the 250 year old parchment they’re written on.

At least exposing it more broadly. Their hypocrisy has been evident for a long time. They're just no longer bothering to hide it. They're now comfortable saying one thing, doing another, and taking the stance of, "So? What you gonna do about it?"

‘Conservatives’ are in the process of burning down everything that was proven to work in society and government. Everything built for over a hundred years by voluntary effort. Everything functional that contributed to freedom and flourishing. Every value they claimed to have was meaningless.
This is correct. I’ve been trying to tell people for a decade now. Trump didn’t change conservatives. They’ve always been trash humans. He merely stripped the veneer of respectability from them.
The line I saw was, “Trump didn’t turn good people into bad people. He turned bad people into voters.”

Poor Republicans are less educated, don't want to pay taxes (even though they're on Social Security & Medicaide) & long for a time of white dominance. Rich Republicans dont like taxes, trade or labor laws & convinced poor Republicans that such things are communism.
I don’t think “Democrats” have it in them. The establishment is happy and fat from playing the liberal side of the isle taking money from the same people giving money to people openly plotting the overthrow of the government.
All we need is people who have it in them to run as Democrats in the primaries and then when they win the "Democrats" will have it in them.
And who are willing and able to effectively tell the voters this is the case!

I think many establishment Dems understand the status quo was/is unsustainable in terms of the entire political super structure and are not only willing but eager to let Trump/GOP/Tech&Banking oligarchs do bad stuff because then *they* aren't responsible for the inevitable collapse
