No, I worked for nearly 40 years for social services, so I have a good understanding of how impoverished most disabled people are. I was fortunate enough to be able to pay privately for health care when I was ill recently, because their was such a long wait.
One of the reasons there has been an increase in the number of people claiming sickness benefit is that so many people are waiting for NHS treatment. I do believe that people should work if they can do, and support Labour’s recent legislation to make it easier for disabled people to return to work
