I appreciate what Newsom is doing, however, this shtick will only last so long before it becomes cringe. It's a useful tool in the arsenal if it isn't overused.

Disagree, politely, b/c as long as Trump is doing it and continues to do so and Gavin Newsom is just doing exactly the same thing in exactly the same language, how can it be cringe? It is only an exact mirror of the same behavior being held up. *Who is cringe here?
