Entire communities are viciously attacking trans children in the most public and humiliating ways and yet the scandal is always framed as some poor kid had the temerity to want to be treated like a human being.

How did this become normalized? Because immediately after they’ve succeeded in destroying some kid’s life comes a wave of “who’s to know what’s right?” think pieces to encourage even more of this so that when lawmakers and even the fucking president join in, everyone just shrugs it off.
