I still get a rush of childlike glee when a package arrives from a bookseller abroad. This one must be round your way, @olawikander.bsky.social Alas the modern tendency to frank everything means that pretty clusters of stamps are mostly a thing of the past.

I have a childlike desire to know what the package contained.

A spare copy of this. I like to have spare copies of much-used volumes. I bought my first at Thornton’s in Oxford for £3.50 in the 80s. This one cost £15 plus delivery. Not too bad an increase given almost 40 years have passed. Ford adds some revisions not in Mayrhofer’s original.

I'm banking on being reincarnated, which is the only way I'll have time to learn it. Decades ago I started a distance learning course with the Mary Ward Centre, but life got in the way.

🙂 I do like Mary Ward. I was sorry when they left that splendid building in Queen’s Square, Bloomsbury. But glad they still exist.

The school in question is, in fact, called Järnåkraskolan!

The best antidote I've found is to buy stamps. Since inflation post covid has decimated the value of most stamps, I've found both mint mini sheets I bought recently have been posted adorned with miniature art, exactly as you prefer. I gave one set to a friend (plus the envelope) but here, art:

Photograph of a 67p 2010 stamp of Winnie The Pooh singing 'Cottleston Pie' to Eeyore on a brown envelope, next to a modern 20p definitive.
