I am reading comments here Americans giving stats of people shot over the weekend like it’s a contest who can have the most number of HUMAN BEINGS shot. What kind of country do U live in? What kind of people talk like this. Like it’s nothing. Canada had 2 stories. Wildfires & baby bear in a park
Oh yes there was a shooting incident in Markham Ontario. We are not perfect.
the guns are coming in from the "United" States of America. 85% of the shootings in 2021 in Ontario were traced back to the USA.
The horse is out of the barn. We have more guns in this country than people, thanks to the NRA and the Supreme Court’s bastardization of the meaning of the 2nd Amendment. A well regulated militia does not mean every man, woman and child should have a gun or twenty.
The upside is that it is harder to commandeer a country of guns. The US needs to be ungovernable.
And an active shooter in Calgary. But ok.

I think there’s a more nefarious reason tbh … for some reason they want to both reduce the population and increase the population. Translated that is, reduce birth defect ppl, reduce poor people, reduce brown ppl, increase non poor white ppl. They’re not being very quiet about it, either.

we live in a country which normalized torture tapes being sent to a vice president who owned part of the private contract company doing the torture fast forward and we have kids snatched from parents without keeping track of the parents and then razor wire to cut families in a raging river
Perhaps if the story of a large number of shootings was being used to justify gun control, rather than a fascist military takeover of US cities, people might be less defensive toward the article. As it stands, I think commenters reactions are understandable.
Didn't have any shot to death in WA this weekend that I heard about, but there was a fire crew at the Bear Gulch blaze on the Olympic Peninsula that was waylaid by ICE so they could present credentials. Two were taken into custody. For reference, the fire was 13% contained at the time. It's now 10%.
1. Canada has guns. 2. American has guns and gives them crazy people. Example: 70,000 homeless veterans with PTSD in LA never go a killing spree. Because they are highly trained good people that respect their oaths. Most would rather use a gun on themselves.

I will never accept this as normal banter. I will call it out every time. I am frankly surprised at anyone that isn’t as disgusted as I am.
It is wrong. We need gun control. But the original post was about the propaganda that keeps the people in power who block even the gun control measures that are popular & supported by the majority of Americans. 2 things can be true: 1) We need gun control & 2) We need to call out propaganda
