The government’s ‘strategy’ is for Labour to ‘be’ the Reform Party, in their hope that voters get enough of a Reform Party fix to not vote for the actual Reform Party in 2029. Obviously there are enormous problems with this plan.

I wish I understood, obviously I’m not a massive political genius like the Labour leadership, but at some level they think it’s advantageous to associate themselves with the “concerns” of the far right, or at least disadvantageous to contradict them

What really worries me is that ordinary prejudice, plain incompetence and unwarranted self-confidence in the leadership of Labour could be enough to lead to violent attacks towards people who "look foreign" and downtrodden.

They saw their purpose for years as containing the left, not representing them, and the Corbyn years cooked their brains even more completely, so we're seeing the rare spectacle of an elected government that genuinely, deeply hates the people who elected them.
