2: have you bought shoes specifically for walking? If so, was it hard to find a well suited model? I go for walks every day, obviously much shorter than your journeys, and I've never really been perfectly happy with the pairs I've gone through. Maybe that's just me.

3: How do you feel about the terraced house as a type of dwelling? Specifically when entire streets are made of the very same type of house (2 down + 2 up, no basement, no garage, no balconies) each stuck to the next. Full disclosure: I loath it!

I grew up in one - they're fine. Bit small, but almost all housing in this country is too small.

The only places in Italy where I saw terraced houses surviving as a style of dwelling were hamlets of 500-1000 peoples. I don't think they have a place in larger in the 20th century. I won't bore you any longer with my grumblings.

No, I'm terrible at that, I mostly just walk in DMs. One time I wrecked my feet for a week by walking 20 miles in converse.
