Finding an actual course of action like backing someone who can potentially defeat MAGA rather than using words that make you feel virtuous but have no meaning, is exactly how we got here. What you mean by "retreating?" The current administration is literally destroying everyone's rights.
Well, it may not be a retreat for you. But, for most people left of center, agreeing with right wing framing is a retreat. The Party has done this on economics, criminal justice, abortion, gay rights, immigration, and now trans rights over the last 45 years. What has it gotten us...
...besides an even more emboldened and dangerous Republican Party? That course of action continues to be advocated for some reason, despite its long history of failure. The one we need to take 2 years from primary season is to make clear we will not accept more of that from any candidate.
As for people's rights being taken away- if you thought that started with Dobbs or in January of 2025, you either haven't been playing attention or don't think trans people deserve rights. In either case (and I don't care which one it is) you are not someone who should be listened to.
