Cable ties (zip ties) are probably one of mankind’s most useful and underrated inventions

one of my organizational talismans
Especially for handcuffing innocent people
that part sucks, but every other non-harmful application is nice
Add in a good pair of flush cutters and you’ve got a great thing there!
I use ‘em to shape the branches of the bushes/trees around my house. Foliage in my part of the world grows bloody fast so I prune harshly about now (late winter) then cable-tie the crap out of it to steer new growth in the right direction to stave off the inevitable pruning as long as possible. 😅
good idea
I spent $2000 a while ago to stop my greenery consuming my house and backyard (and the neighbours) and power and internet lines and to stop decapitating pedestrians ducking under the limbs hanging over the footpath. Subsequently one learns to be proactive! 🤣 Bonsai on a macro scale I guess 🤔
I'd love to see a photo of your yard if you're willing to share it! You're in Australia, right?
I recently did a minor repair on our old beater car using cable ties.
serial killers use them also 😃
A few years ago I discovered the ones that have a hole for using with a screw to mount them, and let me tell you, that's up there with the wheel and pre-sliced bread.
oh crap I need to get some of those
I'm not ashamed to admit they kept part of my front bumper in place when it started to come off. They come in lots of sizes, and they're strong as hell.
Also, underrated cat toy. Get one of the 3-footers, stick it under a rug, hours of fun
meanwhile the loaf of bread bag tie… the world is a cold place.
You’re gonna love bungee balls
I use them for countless fixes...
Zip ties are awesome until you have to remove them. Velcro (or generic hook and loop equivalent) straps let you manage your cables while allowing for easy maintenance.
far more useful than bailing wire and twine for sure.
