There are already many better options in the mix & more will begin making themselves known. He’s not even that popular in California, he’d be an absolute disaster. I honestly can’t think of a WORSE candidate on the dem side, which is why I find the premise that he’s the best option deeply confusing.
Put another way: We see the anti-Newsom content just as often. My wish is that those with a voice & who are taking action would redirect toward propping up better candidates. Out here, he looks like 1of3 good ones. But we’re all also watching ineffective nat’l leadership countering the coup.
We are doing that. I can’t speak to what’s reported beyond the US border, but Chris van Hollen, Elizabeth Warren, JB Pritzker, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Pete Buttigieg, Tim Walz, and some others have all been speaking out as much as Newsome, and more effectively.
Also important to note that Newsome’s policies are explicitly fascist and need to be spoken against. That’s the reason people speak against them, but that in no way means other candidates aren’t being lifted up by the same people speaking out against Newsome.
Totally hear you. Every battle is won but by bit. We (I guess I’m giving myself the right to speak for The World…) really want/pray for good outcomes; for the centuries-long in-built polarization to diffuse; for 🇺🇸 to care more for ppl than 💰, power, prestige. Elevate the good ones — priority #1
Priority number one is defeating fascism. Now. Tomorrow. Always. Newsome is a fascist, his defeat and the defeat of all other fascists is, and should be, what people are going to focus on.

Love every one of them. The more mentions their names have, the more reach they get. Every time Newsom’s name is mentioned — even negative mentions — he’s propped up… …which props up the “left eating the left” narrative. Believe me: there’s support out here. Chagrin, disgust, fear… and support.
Reasonable. Totally hear you. Again: not saying Newsom is the guy. And def are better options out there. The World watches world news; average Americans don’t. Accessing what seeps beyond the 🇺🇸 can be useful. Newsom is gaining popularity outside USA.
