You guys realize there were dozens of other civilizations over 5000+ years in these areas with millions of people right? Some were custodians of the rainforest. Some not so much.

We’re having an archaeologist golden age in central and SA. YouTube LiDAR and south / central America. There is a lot of info out in the last few years about this. Maybe try top 10 archaeological findings with LiDAR in various areas.

I saw news about the "new" sites in Peru. But nothing for the locales of the Mayan Empire.
