Omny cards don’t work, but I just loaded my commuter benefits card directly (it functions as a credit card) and I can use that with Apple Pay on my watch.

Our commuter benefits card for subway no longer works that way, it goes directly onto an omni card.

It used to, but with the change over from metrocard to omni card, they changed that.
