Raccoons are mean and kill for sport. Killed 7 of my chickens, 3 in one night. You are asking for trouble if you try to domesticate them

They never lose that instinct either. It's a law in my state (UT) that any raccoon that's been trapped be "disposed."I have disposed of several that were attracted to the neighbors chickens and treed by my hounds. They are cute as all get out but often rabid. They're not meant to be pets.
