Has anyone IN NEW MEXICO been able to schedule a new covid vax? I'm getting a peculiar 'you need a prescription in your state' error message at all the pharmacy websites.

Let me know if you find any. I'm fine getting my vaccine in mid-September, but that means scheduling ASAP.
All I am seeing for vaccines are the last new formulas not the new new. We need to wait for the committee to do the recommendations, it should be easier then. We are due for boosters mid sept so should be okay holding off for a bit. We still mask everywhere all the time.
There aren’t any that I’m aware of.

Sign at Smiths in ABQ says they're available, idk if that helps
Well, it means I might just walk into the Smiths up here and see...
One of our Smith’s is out. The other one has a head pharmacist who is gatekeeping anyone who isn’t immunocompromised due to being on a biologic. Yeah, I know that’s not current guidance.
FYI the Smith's at Constitution & Carlisle is the one at which I saw the sign today
Thanks for the info. That’s a completely doable drive.
Update from what I’m hearing from DOH leadership: CVS appears to be allowing self-attestation of qualifying health issues. Walgreens and Albertsons are requiring scripts, at least at the moment. Also: I hate this timeline.
Further note: CVS does not seem to have any appointments in the I-25 corridor. Just for your information.
Update to my update is that CVS has apparently now decided to wait on ACIP in sixteen states. NM is one of them. Which was not what we were hearing this afternoon. 🙃 In conclusion, everything is fucked. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/28/w...
UGH. I am so sorry for all of us.
Me too. This didn’t have to be this way.
If people need help finding a PCP w/ upcoming appts, call the NMDOH hotline (833-SWNURSE). Depending on city, we can usually find an appt within 2-3 weeks. Might be helpful if pharmacies decide to insist on prescriptions. Past that… I have absolutely no idea. Just so indescribably frustrating.
Thank you; this is very helpful.
My guess is things are going to change pretty rapidly. Board of pharmacy and office of the superintendent of insurance will likely give some sort of direction here, hopefully soon, but we’re in a bit of a weird position without ACIP recommendations… which should have come out in June.
Great to know
I can tell you this directive is NOT coming from the state. 🫠 We’re having a great time over here at the health department.
My absolute sympathies.
Im also getting that in Wisconsin, its fucking weird
This post explains why this is going on and why people that don't fall into the approved categories may have difficulties getting Covid vaccines this year. It's a federal level issue around approval.
