That being that we need legal respect for who we are, no segregation, bodily autonomy and access to timely medical treatment to live full and complete lives, and the state denied us all of these to various degrees, now, and Adnan Hussein agrees with making our lives unliveable. As do you.

I mean, wtaf is wrong with you that you're willing to support a party breaking away from Labour but who are immediately fine with one of their MPs falling in complete lockstep with Keir Starmer and the Labour Party? It completely undermines the point of Your Party: opposition to Labour betrayals.

And if they're already folding to a conservative in a senior position in the party, will they eventually do the same on, say, abortion rights, which Hussein also opposes? Without clear, strong commitments now, this only sets up fights later when Palestine isn't as salient an issue.

Because, one day, the economy will turn, and what happened in Palestine will be an ugly memory, and they will need positions on things like this to be a real electoral force. And if they're indistinguishable from the right, why would anyone be convinced by that?

Not only that, but many of the voters they want to appeal to are those already setting off to the Greens or quitting Labour. They're left-wing, young, women, many will be LGBTQ+, have a strong sense of injustice. The idea they're pulling TERFs away from Labour, the Tories or Reform is insane.

Not only that, but saying that any human rights are negotiable when the right is LITERALLY trying to force a debate on membership of the ECHR is supporting their position. It will be clipped up, thrown in their faces, and will damage any chances they have by building momentum for Reform.

Not to mention that it undermines Corbyn's arguments on Gaza - he wants one group of people protected from the right-wing but another group, who are literally citizens of the country he presumably wants to lead, can wait patiently or be sacrificed.

Because they are trying to erase trans people from the UK. They've stopped kids from transitioning and are forcing them into conversion therapy in the hope they'll detransition. They're erasing trans identities in the law as we speak.

Next March or April, there will be a report on access to adult trans healthcare that was brought about by Cass overstepping her remit that will either erect more guardrails or abolish adult trans healthcare, more than likely. That will be used to reduce the number of us even further.

These steps are colloquially known as genocide. Legal and physical erasure. Trans people are already dying and more will die. And yet he can't even offer us a commitment to supporting our rights. That's all we want. Nothing more.

As in, a sentence or a statement supporting trans rights and committing to that. We all know that the mass murder in Gaza is more pressing, right now, on a visceral level. But it isn't justification for ignoring another cleansing going on within the UK, even if it is slower and more invisible.
