A dinky little marble statue of geologist Hugh Miller by Amelia Paton Hill in National Museum Scotland. He’d no doubt be pleased that just outside there are his favourite fossils - Devonian Old Red Sandstone fish - to be seen in the Caithness Flags of the pavement (aka sidewalk).

Marble statue of Hugh Miller looking at a fossil fish in his left hand. Grey paving slab with black fossil fish remains. Close up of black bones of the head of a fossil fish in a grey paving slab.

Discovered a couple of years back from a plaque that a friend lives in his last residence, Portobello.
