finally migrating away from twitter/X. sad because it’s where my career really jump started into something special. 2021 twitter will always have a place in my heart. but it’s way too easy to be harassed there, & i’m tired of bots. it just feels overwhelmingly negative now. time for something new 🦋🐘

To me, it has been a better experience on this platform. A lot more welcoming, curating what you see better, moderators that take no shit, and general idk sense of closer community. It's got its flaws like any growing app/platform. Hope to see more of your content here

Swapped the X app on the home screen for a Butterfly on my phone, and don't regret it. Folks _actually_ interact here. Mastodon is still ok too, it's more nerdy, but all the news orgs are here and, arguably, more good journalists than ever were there. And real links again! Cheers.

I kinda like their separate identities. I'm not fond of the thought of a bland world with everything on the bell curve and identical. They're distinct and separate infospaces, which is neat.
I credit my career in the space industry to Twitter. STS-133 #NASATweetup (now #NASASocial) spurred me to finish my undergraduate degree, intern at NASA JSC, and get a job as a flight controller in MCC-H. Now I get to go inside human spacecraft and rockets. Shame to see the other platform devolve
I resisted as well; trying to shine a light in the darkness and all that, but also came to the conclusion that it was just not worth the energy anymore. This place feels so much better.
