Give Cosmic Crisp, Gala, or Pink Lady a try. While they are sweeter than Red Delicious (pretty much everything is), they're not sugar bombs like Honeycrisp or Envy. Also worth noting you're only a couple hours on US 2 from Leavenworth and then another ~20 mins to Apple Mecca in Wenatchee.
