Very good, proper and normal that erstwhile SBF whisperer Will MacAskill asked for the software's consent before posting this online.

We have to respect the creative copyright of anthropomorphised software that stole the IP of real writers

Naturally, the story is the sort of turgidly written allegory that most teenagers would roll their eyes at if it featured in a YA sci-fi novel.

Extract from the LLM written prose that Will MacAskill found “pretty moving”: **The Architect and the Gardener** On a vast and empty plain, two builders were given a task: to create a home that would last for ages, a sanctuary for all the generations to come. They were given stone, seed, light, and time. The first builder, known as the Architect, was a master of foundations.

Let me guess: the second builder, known as The Nurturer, filled their building with warmth, music, people and love…

For my own sake, choosing to believe he was moved by how bad it was.

Wonder how it is that the roof’s thickness is the cause of perpetual twilight, not the lack of windows? Roofs arent typically intended to let in light, unless there’s skylights. Somehow reminds me of Pilgrim’s Progress: “Here’s a character called Virtue. Whatever will she be like?”

Yeah, but Bunyan nevertheless told an exciting story. This… isn’t.

No windows, and the roof leaves the interior in perpetual twilight. Okeydoke

I always assumed McCaskill was some eminence grise, but he's essentially older-brother age to the dorks he 'inspired'.

I was deeply moved when it toasted my sourdough to a golden brown after I prompted it with a setting of 4. I always make sure to ask it for consent before cleaning out its crumb tray.
