What they actually said is that he can't be prosecuted for infractions that occur while he is performing his official duties as POTUS, but that he is liable to be prosecuted for things he does as a private citizen.

Or actions outside the bounds of his official duties as POTUS. There is broad latitude in that to prosecute him for his pure corruption beyond his “official duties”. I don’t think bribery and blackmail are official duties. Nor for that matter disregard of the constitutional checks and balances.

He’s a twice impeached President and a convicted felon and yet - he’s the sitting President. That’s my final answer. Good luck with any prosecutions beyond his “official duties.”
