This is super cool AND I keep reading the site name as "Can DC Save Democracy," which hits especially well right now in August 2025.

Thank you! And yeah - we're both DC based too (him more so than me), so that's why we thought of this/are motivated to launch now!
Our goal is straightforward: figure out how the hell we survive 2026 and 2028, and unwind Project 2025 in every way possible. I'm going to continue posting solo of course, but we both see people asking questions - e.g. where's the Dem equivalent of Project 2025? and want to push for answers.
... and since the discourse of the Taylor Lorenz/Wired piece is still a thing (💀): Definitely not being paid for this. We're just two people who are frightened by what we're seeing, care deeply about good governance, and want better for the future of this country.
Hey bud! Would you consider moving this away from Substack since it seems like you just started this project? Maybe to ghost or beehiiv? (Genuinely think it would increase your reach tbh, happy to chat more about beehiiv if you're curious!)
Was coming here to ask this same question! :) Would very much like to share future posts/articles, because I deeply value your insight, but I don't do that from Substack.
Hey both - I know I mentioned yesterday that cost is a major issue for me (related to everything that happened in February), and it's going to be a little bit before things get better. But I made an Insta for the same content: www.instagram.com/candcsavedem...
❤️❤️
TY!
No, ty! Thanks for the nudge to think deeper about this!!
Appreciate both of you looking out! Cost is a real factor for me at the moment, so Substack makes the most sense. Always open to revisiting later.
I came here to third the request to move away from Substack. I would willingly—I may even go so far as to say happily—pay to subscribe to a newsletter from you, but not if it's on Substack. I'm at the point now where I won't even read on Substack, much less share.
Definitely hear you - as I mentioned to Amy Jo and Preeti, cost is a major issue for me right now. But I did make an Insta for the content too: www.instagram.com/candcsavedem...
I too would pay, but not to Substack. Sorry💜
You’re a rock star
