What's really weird - correct me if I'm wrong - is that all mass shootings seem to involve mentally unstable people with easy access to firearms (and who are not "illegals").

That's about right. I'll take it even further... gotta hog family, mostly right wingers. They make the argument largely that gun control is making this worse. That and "police defunding", lmao, among other things. Fascists live in fantasy worlds, dark ones and they want to pull us down.

"Fascists live in fantasy worlds, dark ones and they want to pull us down." Agreed. And they are convinced that they are the "enlightened" ones; those who know the REAL truth about which the rest of us "sheeples" are ignorant.

"Easy access to firearms" really just means "lives in the US". :-) I'd disagree with "mentally unstable" if you mean "has a mental illness". Too often violence is blamed on mental illness, when it's really just evil.

I agree: these mass murderers are not mentally ill, which is why I used "mentally unstable." (Perhaps I should have used "emotionally unstable" instead?) The hypocrisy of Gun Rights folks is that they like to blame mental illness, but refuse background checks to prove buyers are not mentally ill.

"Emotionally unstable" would be a perfect description for what I've heard about many of them! Yep. The hypocrisy is exasperating. I should love to rewrite the 2nd amendment to clarify the linkage between "bearing arms" and being part of a trained and orderly ("well-regulated") militia.

I'd also mention that at least a few (that I'm aware of) were related to former or current law enforcement. If you've ever known anyone in "law enforcement", you know they often have so many weapons. Plus, they've never met someone they didn't want to beat half to death... even family. A powderkeg.

It's a "Might Makes Right" mentality. A sincere belief in the age-old mantra: Spare the rod, spoil the child. All one need do is beat "wrong thinking people" into submission to "fix" them. It's a conservative core belief... and Trump knows how to tap into their core belief to exploit it.
