Confused about the use of "gay" here. Are you speaking about natal women who use "gay" as their preferred descriptor? I'm used to thinking of "gay" as cis men who have sex with men (which is why we originally fought to use L in the acronym) but perhaps the language has shifted.
The thing about queer people is we know that boxes are limiting and have little to do with actual living beings. Thank you for asking 💖🌈🏳️⚧️
(This could also be married couples who used a donor and then the pregnancy turns out to be dangerous or unviable in some way)
Sex, sexuality, and gender are wide ranging, fluid, and wonderfully varied. I know gay men and lesbians who have sex with each other, lesbian trans women who get their wives pregnant, gay trans men whose husband get then pregnant, and some folx just f@cking around and finding out 😁💖🪩
Yes of course, but I'm confused about how a cis gay man could need an abortion
Oh yes I see. I’m sorry, I realize I didn’t read your whole original post, which is not ok. If trans men and cis men are all men, it is safe to assume ‘men’ includes both of these categories unless otherwise stated. It’s true that not everyone would agree with this.
Hmm. Did they say cis man?
Who is your team? What kind of research did you do? What are your credentials? Just because someone posts they’ve done a study does not make it legit.
You could click though to see all that information. Demanding it here without doing that suggests you're less interested in the actual answers than in starting up trouble.
What I am interested in is not providing far-right extremists more reason to hate LGBTQ+ people (because of their abortions). Tell me how to view this otherwise.
Go. Read it. Abortion is health care. This is about health care.
I know that, but the far-right does not care.
The far right will hate no matter what. Trying to examine why a visible trend exists should be done regardless.
If you click through, it is an LGBTQ organization that is expressing concern that LGBTQ folks are not getting the care we need. Far-right extremists will use it, just like they use instances of us just being gay in public. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong to keep doing it. Abortion is not bad.
