also hope it lets us critique "pandering" in fiction (w/ tact) writing a story is hard! a character can be great for representation, but still be written poorly! on the other hand, we've had _centuries_ of the patriarchy writing cringe stories about themselves, that should be everyone's birthright

overall, the instruments of collective mythmaking are important and should be shared across way more of the population than just corporate media elites and professional artists in coastal theater hubs
