The Department of Education took down the Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) payment count tracker. But we came across a hack that allows you to see that information by following these steps. This works best in either Firefox or Chrome. Quick thread.π§΅
1. Log in to studentaid.gov (we know, it sucks) 2. Paste this link into your browser: studentaid.gov/app/api/nsld... If using Chrome, click on the small box at the top that says "Pretty-print" to make the page easier to read.
While the information here isn't presented in the best way, itβs not too difficult to interpret if you read it carefully. This page lists every one of the payment plansβ whether your loans qualify for that payment planβand your number of qualifying payments for each plan.
Our suggestion: Print this out or screenshot it and save it for your records. You might need it for the future to prove that you are owed cancellation.
Another thing: If your payment count for Income-Based Repayment (IBR with a 'B') is 300 or more, please take a screenshot and share it with us by filling out this form. FORM: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
^^^ Anyone with 300+ payments under IBR is owed cancellation right now, and the Trump admin is deliberately delaying that cancellation in order to hit people with a tax bill next year. Documentation from impacted borrowers like you will help us fight these unjust delays.
Okay, one last thing: If you ever have any problems with your federal student loans, we recommend that you submit a complaint to the Student Aid Feedback Center. studentaid.gov/feedback-cen...
are there other options if you haven't received a response/the response to your complaint isn't useful and doesn't resolve the issue?
We know this sounds annoying, but genuinely, you're member of congress. They truly don't get enough complains about the Ed Dept. And of course, you can always reach out to your state AG.
thank you! any additional option at this point is great tbh π so i appreciate it!!
I just uploaded my screenshot of my loan - looks like Iβm at 240 and have 58 more to pay but honestly not sure how to read everything so I sent a copy thru the Google form
The link doesn't display as a webpage; just raw JSON data. Is that normal? I have no idea how to read this.
what is this?
What is the link? studentaid.gov/app/api/nsld... ?

Thank you for your continued service
