Its not connected to anything except all of batman (it's pretty much the batman version of the skywalker saga with reference from batmans past from movies, cartoons, comics and games)

So glad to have LEGO Batman back. It's been way too long since we've had our last TT LEGO game, and having it be a new LEGO Batman (that seems to adapt and remix all the films) is a solid way to bring back the series. This is probably more hype than TSS was for me a few years back
