I seem to recall that the creators said this Marvel Zombies was disconnected from the What If MZ episode. Not sure if that's still the case but I hope so, as that was easily the weakest WI episode.

They fumbled the concept of endless possibilities. Some episodes were good but it’s all a waste now. At least marvel rivals understands that they have so many characters and stories that they can go on for a very long time
