The misogynistic propaganda was insane in 2018 cause I did not know Captain Marvel made a billion in the box office.

The movie was fun and didn't deserved the hate. But he also beneficed for being released between Infinity War and Endgame.

Joker is not a "Superhero movie" It's based in a comic book character, yes. But it has nothing to do with superheros and the protagonist is a villain.
Captain Marvel putting Joker in his place!
It's funny how the highest on DC side is the most bullied hero.
Seeing Dark Knight belows No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine is everything you need to know as to why the genre is on life support.
Dark Knight also came out before the superhero craze was really kicked off
No it really doesn’t.
Yes it does, they got people hooked on movies based on cameos and actors the have already seen from previous movies instead of telling decent stories. No Way Home and Deadpool 3 are atrocious, the tone isn't cohevise in both movies and the characters have really poor characterization.
Ok. I don’t agree with you.
You do know that it came out the same year as Iron Man 2008 The year the MCU started Yes it is my favorite film of all time But super heroes were not as big back then as they are now
Those were good times yeah. We weren't aware of how much damage Iron Man was going to make.
It’s surreal how many of these is Marvel.
Not really...
I mean sure they were on a killing spree for a while but DC was for a bit doing way better. Especially with the Dark Knight series. Also during the early 2000s marvel was struggling outside of Spider-Man and X Men they didn’t have a hit until Iron Man.
Im pretty sure this isnt adjusted for inflation is the thing.
I am pretty sure it is and if not that doesn’t take away from my point. My point is back in the day Marvel was struggling outside of Spider-Man and X Men. Which fun fact they didn’t see any of that money from those films due to the contract.
Naw, those films did good at the time, but good at the time wasnt in the billions. This list makes sense to me.
Um the Dark Knight is listed as making 1.009 billion dollars. I was a kid at that time so I could be wrong but I don’t think the dark knight made that much money from 2008. Unless it counts home releases or it re release it has to be adjust for inflation.
TDK was re-released as part of its Oscar campaign in the wake of Heath Ledger's posthumous nomination, and thats when its box office entered into the 1 billion category.
I figured still must have been close to original release because it hit the 1 billion club even without adjusting for inflation.
Yeah I just googled it to and you right. I guess my memory isn’t like it used to be.
Wonder how much The Dark Knight would earn with today’s inflated prices… that’s probably my favorite of the bunch
Aquaman was really good, it’s crazy by the time the sequel came out, no one really cared
I wouldn’t call it good but the studio didn’t really meddle with the film. The sequel one the other hand was heavily altered by the studio with reshoots and with changes to the ending and so on. it was awful.
Right?! I still don't understand this.
If you went back to 2016 and told me an Aquaman movie was gonna reach a billion compared to something like BvS or a Justice League movie, I would not believe you 😭 Wonder why it did so well 🤔
James Wan is actually a good director.
How about no more American superhero movies until we defeat the very real villain destroying our actual country?
Only 15 movies have made it pass $1 billion worldwide and people want to act like comic book movies not making a billion is dire news. I’m not saying that they haven’t taken a hit but you’d think based on the reaction this year that comic book movies are on life support.
How tf is captain marvel up here that was so boring
Just remember The Dark Knight did it first and before the superhero crazy was in full swing
