Do they know they are in Brussels? Does it matter to them? Would they take flight if they could remember their way home? Maybe the sedentary life suits them just fine, and they don’t feel as if they’ve lost a fundamental part of their personality by anchoring themselves in this hostile city.

Maybe 10 years ago they started appearing around Tervuren, and now I seem them daily in my back garden near Wavre, so the parakeets are spreading outside of Brussels into more distant communes
