Bandcamp has made a very bad decision which will hurt musicians. BC is requiring all artists and labels to use Stripe payment processor that has closed accounts due to their policy of no sensitive content sold with their system but worse, their policy is to equal LGBT content with sensitive content.

I'll preface this by saying, Faircamp is NOT for everyone! Your mileage may vary and your audience might not easily adapt to these changes I'm personally choosing to stick with Bandcamp (as I have since 2009) and use Faircamp as an alternative source for music discovery
BC has to reverse the decision and allow artists and labels to get paid without a censorous payment processor. Make BC know your opinion frequently until they change the Stripe partnership to allow anyone to use another payment processor. Flood their support lines.

Good news for musicians who like bad news. Damnit, this really sucks. Bandcamp was really the great hope for those of us who hate using Spotify to get our music out there (with a hope of at least some minor royalties...)
There is an alternative to Bandcamp called Faircamp. It's not for everyone. It doesn't directly take payments but add-ons can solicit listeners to buy a download code.

Wwwwhy would they do this? What is wrong with them? There is no benefit of limiting what folks can use to pay for your service. This is JUST an attack on LGBT artists & musicians (which are most of the artists I listen to).
Because their parent company Songtradr only cares about monetary gain They're not in it for the artists and Bandcamp is just a pawn

id argue PayPal is worse tbh. still not happy with Stripe's behaviour towards adult + lgbt content but id see this as a net good thing given PayPal's track record of not being on the side of queer people or just people in general

the only thing more baffling than placing paypal as "more hostile to queer creators" than stripe is you talking down to others who at least somewhat agree with you. both paypal and stripe are at fault. i'd still prefer the company without the reputation for taking queer creators' money hostage.
