It's the second bit that's the clincher, really, but if an episode requires an in-depth knowledge of the whole show, it's not quite a "single" episode that's great, it's the whole of the show making that episode good.

I could also swap out "Blink" but I like how "Heaven Sent" makes you chew on it a while afterwards.
On that point, I would argue that The Visitor is just as good an episode as FBTS, and is probably giving more to someone who doesn't know the show - because FBTS relies so heavily on the in-joke of actors playing different roles than they normally do. (Though both are great episodes.)
Lol it just occurs to me that The Visitor, 33, and Heaven Sent are all about time loops, in a way.
Bahahaha! I mean, FBTS kind of is, too. Sort of. :D
I do not know why I always think the BSG quote is "all of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again" (with that wording) - did a character quote it differently than the opening crawl?
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's been quoted aloud a few times in different ways - I couldn't tell you when or by who, but I bet someone's written an essay on it
