I get it. I also get, having lived very desperately before, that a good enough paycheck to change that situation might have me make short term compromises. Not excusing it but I understand the motivation of an empty plate. Even more when it's in front of my kid.

No. Because if that was the case, they could do interviews about turning down ice and who they really are and get money. There is not one person doing it because of the money. They’re doing it because they like it.

Oh, I do understand. I’ve been there too. But- I’d never hurt someone for a paycheck. Period. Don’t forget: The people that they are hurting, are even more desperate, and working to better their lives. They haven’t resorted to kidnapping. They work the jobs, white Americans are too good for.
