I don’t know what Tarkowski is meant to do with his arms to avoid a penalty there. You could ask the referee to draw a picture of where he can put them and there wouldn’t be anywhere #EFC #UTFT

Hard to say there’s a massive difference in sticking an arm out to putting the arm in the same place by leaning. Understand he’s trying to block it with his chest but doesn’t and so has to be a pen.

Yeah, I think the fact he’s trying to block it with his chest means it shouldn’t be, because it’s a matter of inches with a ball travelling at speed. But you probably deserved to win anyway, we were rotten - in the first half especially.

I think one of them that goes either way, and it’s nice to see VAR supporting refs perception which is one of my main gripes. Any road, really tough decision to be on the end of. Do think we were better overall but equally not great in possession.

Agree - one of those games where it was going to take something like a pen for someone to get a goal as both sides couldn’t create anything!

He’s trying to block the shot with his chest - is he meant to just not try to block shots now in case it hits the top of an arm that’s tucked behind his back?

I think if the the situation was reversed and a potential goal of yours had been stopped in the same fashion you’d be approaching this slightly differently.
