the way most people treat droids like shit in star wars makes way more sense if you consider they're barely operational LLMs puppeteering rusty robot bodies instead of full-fledged artificial intelligence

One of the things I like about Star Wars is that it imagines a extremely hightech world that is and has been scientifically stagnant for millennia. No one really knows how any of this shit does what it does on a deep level and extremely few people are interested in thinking about it.

Are droids actually intelligent or just chat bots? No one knows or has eveb really wondered about it for hundreds and thousands of years. Droids are just one of the things that are out there, like magical warrior monks, death rays, and space squids.
