I hesitate to say you're 100% right because I think Mamdani would probably still receive this racialized vitriol if he was a Hindu Indian American, if he held the same views on Israel, India Uganda, etc.

Pramila Jayapal shares his views on Israel/Palestine, and although she does get beat up by the press occasionally, her colleagues don’t act like she’s a threat to Israel. Maybe I’m reading it wrong.
