The Social Security administration is sending put emails claiming "up to 90%" of beneficiaries will no longer pay federal income tax on their benefits. These lies must be exposed.

I have never seen a promotional email like this sent from Social Security. Praising Dear Leader, misleading information. We've crossed into a new phase here.

I forwarded it to my senators asking, "Is this for real?" Luckily, Amy and Tina are my senators.

They are masters at messaging. Technically there is nothing about this in the bill. But there is an increase in the personal fed tax deduction. So they calculated how many on SSA would get the higher deduction enough to cover heir piddly SS and came up with the message. Accurate but devious.

Nope. They're blatantly lying. Email contains the following passage. There is no "provision". The enhanced deduction is in addition to nothing.

Most beneficiaries make less than $2,000 per month. This already puts them below the level of paying taxes. They are even exempt from having to file a return. The only SS recipients who pay taxes are wealthy elderly.
