There’s already a challenger to Hoyer named Harry Jarin, who has a record of helping Marylanders & his district in economic & firefighting endeavors, volunteer work as a firefighter, as well as grant writing for firefighting. I’m curious about what you’ve done in the district & our state.
Best I can tell, none. She was living in Florida until recently. She founded & runs a nonprofit based in DC. I don't even know if she lives in Maryland. I agree - we want someone who has a history with & connection to Maryland. I intend to vote for Jarin. Steny has done a great job but it is time...
agreed. I looked her up. She ran for US Senate in Fl in 2016 & U.S. Congress in Fl in 2020 as a Dem. Her law practice is in DC. I couldn’t find any record of her in Maryland. We need liberal candidates w/a demonstrable record of involvement in our state & the district in which they seek office..
I don’t live in MD right now and I’m not required to. I have stated my platform and my track record speaks for itself when it comes to calling out the bullshit and fighting. If it matters more to you that the candidate is from MD, than vote for who appeals to you. Some people care more that
Seriously? I suppose you approve of Tommy Tuberville living & voting in Florida while representing Alabama in the US Senate. Marylanders should be represented by Marylanders who have shown their dedication to our state, not a DC resident who wishes to be a member of Congress at any cost.

2/2 DC doesn’t have voting representation in Congress. Someone with drive & energy needs to make a national push for statehood. DC is where you live & work. Why do you choose Maryland, where you have zero ties, over DC?
Imho, & as an attorney who lived for years in DC but worked until retirement in DC, DC needs your help, not Maryland. We have fantastic Marylanders qualified to represent us in the U.S. Congress. DC desperately needs a good advocate for statehood in Congress. Eleanor Holmes Norton is 88. 1/2

I think so. I like Eleanor Holmes Norton. But, she has never been an aggressive advocate on the national stage for statehood. DC’s Fed enclave could be restricted to the government’s properties & its business & residential areas as a state. Someone needs to shout it from the rooftops in Congress.
