Yeah. They're also going where their main audience is. 4H is a generally rural program (though it does not have to be) and most of the participants are rural, so it doesn't make sense to host the events in cities.

@kwardvancouver.bsky.social Vancouver doesn’t have 4H competitions anymore but Maple Ridge still does. They don’t have a specific category for llama costumes but they do have one for “llama performance” and “llama public relations” — whatever that is!

Will have to investigate for next year! I usually just go for the wool auction so I miss a lot of stuff, but Sunday looks like it has cow and goat costumes.

YESSS! Also, yarn auction strikes me as an important necessity. I'm still hoarding some of the alpaca yarn I bought at the fairs a decade ago.
