So. I'm watching Mute, and it's one of my faves... but i've never really watched it with a disability-focus, even though the main character has a disability. So many things completely inaccessable to people in a futuristic society that emphasizes speaking to the interfaces.

Netflix promotional image. Title (Mute) along the bottom in white. The scene is a night image in an urban area with dim background neon lighting. The shadowed profile of a man walks in the middle of the image, headed to the right, under the midpoint of a series of pale blue-white archways shaped like upper lips (a gentle hill with a dip in the middle). There are a series of 4 archways extending into the background. They reflect perfectly on the floor or ground below the walking man.

I'm really grateful @manmademoon.bsky.social did this with his story. The future not being accessible is one of the biggest unspoken issues coming for us. (As Microsoft configures Office to respond best to speech, for example) We are all only temporarily able. Disability remains inevitable.
