That sucks for sure, but try two parts hamburger and 2 parts cooked lentils, well seasoned for a healthier, still tasty option. Toss it on the noodles with some cheese and they will never know. Also excellent for make Sloppy Joe's or chilie. Doesn't take much time. We are smarter than the fascists.

Actually, sloppy joes made with just lentils are pretty good if you're in a pinch and don't have picky kids. The point, however, is that we're getting squeezed needlessly by Trump's insane tariffs. Hamburger Helper (or sloppy joes or chili) should not be a luxury food.

Yep…gotta go down to the bulk items and seasoning. Make things in advance and freeze them or have a plan of use.

We may be smarter than the fascists, but right now we're just surviving them. I'm ready for the brain stuff to kick in and help the situation a lot more than it is. Sick tip on the lentils, though. I'm definitely taking notes.

Meat substitutes like Boca or Impossible will work in that too.

If you buy it at rock bottom when you can and keep it in the freezer it comes out to about the same as ground beef. The meat sub will last longer in the freezer and makes a nice addition to mostly veg meals like soups or dip. Caso fundido is just a 1/4 cup soyrizo and a cup of cheese.
